Dermot Gallagher

Dermot GallagherDermot Gallagher was one of our country’s most high profile and respected officials. He officiated in the Football League since 1985, and was amongst the first band of Referees on the commencement of the FA Premier League in 1992. Dermot retired from the Premier League at the end of the 2006/2007 season. During this time he was also a FIFA referee for over 9 years, officiating in 139 matches abroad.

Highlights of Dermot Gallagher’s career include all the major finals in England, FA Cup 1996, Charity Shield 1995, FA Trophy 1995 and Vase 1984. Abroad have done U20 World Cup Final in 1995 Argentina v Brazil, The South African Cup Final 1995, Brazilian Cup Final 1996, FIFA Military Games Final 2001 and numerous Champions League, European Internationals and World Cup matches. Since retiring from the professional ranks in 2007, Dermot is regularly seen officiating in TV events such as Premier League All Starts and The Masters football.

In May 2008, Dermot Gallagher joined ITV1’s Beat The Star as a competition referee and for the 2008/09 season will be appearing as a weekly summariser on Sky Sports and Talk Sport. Dermot is also establishing himself as a very sought after and popular after dinner speaker.

Austin Healey

Austin HealeyFormer rugby union ace Austin Healey was most recently seen in BBC 1’s Strictly Come Dancing at the end of 2008. His all-round talent and triumphs on the Rugby pitch made him a regular fixture of the sports pages, and Austin has also created headlines with his views on team mates, rugby rivals and club managers.

He played for England under 21’s in 1992, aged just 19 and was an integral member of the Leicester Tigers team that won 2 European Cups. He played in numerous positions including scrum-half, fly-half, full-back and on the wing. Austin won 51 caps for England and he toured with the Lions in 1997 and 2001.

Since retiring from playing rugby, Austin has worked as a banker as well as a pundit and commentator on rugby for the BBC and Sky TV. He is married to wife Louise and they have four girls.

Austin has written an autobiography entitled Me And My Mouth.
