Kyran Bracken
Although born in Dublin in 1971, Kryan Bracken is best known for his illustrious career as England scrum half, winning 53 caps between 1993 and 2003; the proudest moment of which came when winning the World Cup in 2003.
After moving to Liverpool at the age of four, Kyran went through education up to degreee level, where he qualified as a solicitor but always had an eye for sport playing both rugby and football from an early age, on one occasion having trials for Liverpool Football Club and Rugby League for St Helens. However, it was during his time in Bristol that he firmly established himself as a taltented Rugby union player and signed to play for Bristol having previosuly played for Waterloo close to his family home in Liverpool.
He made his international debut against the All Blacks in 2003 and when the game turned professional, moved to Saracens in 1996 where he stayed until retiring from the game in 2006. A hugely popular character and well respected in the game, Kryan also represented the British Lions on their tour of South Africa in 1997.
Since finishing playing rugby, Kyran propelled himself in to the mainstream showbiz spotlight winning Dancing On Ice and later winning the “champions of champions” show.

Dwayne Peel
Born in Carmarthen in 1981, Dwayne Peel has gone on to become the most capped Scrum Half in Welsh Rugby, winning 76 caps since making his debut for his country in 2001.
The stand out achievement in Peel’s career is the Six Nations Grand Slam win in 2005, during which he earned two Man-of-the-Match awards. This achievement was closely followed by Dwayne’s selection for the 2005 British and Irish Lions squad which toured New Zealand, in which Peel played in all three tests against the All Blacks.
Domestically, Dwayne played for Llanelli RFC, who became the Llanelli Scarlets in 2003 between 2000 and 2008 before he moved to play for Sale Sharks in the English Premiership.

Jeff Thompson
An all time Australian cricket legend, Jeff “Thommo” Thompson, is still one of the fastest bowlers ever to have played the game, with his record 99.6 mph! Together with his unique action, Thommo presence on the field was enough to strike fear into batsmen the world over during his time at the top in the the 1970s and 1980s!
He made his Test debut in 1972 against Pakistan which would be the start of an illustrious 13 year career for the Aussies. During this time he played a total of 51 Tests, taking 200 wickets in the process with an overall bowling average of 28.00.
Thompson spent one season playing County Cricket in England for Middlesex in 1981 but he will be best remembered for his time playing for Australia and in particular for England fans the 33 wickets he took during the 1974-75 Ashes series!

Steve Collins
Undefeated Super-Middleweight World Champion boxer, Steve Collins, was born in Cabra, Dublin on 21st July 1964. As an amateur boxer, Steve won the Irish junior heavyweight, light-heavyweight and middleweight titles. Turning professional at the middleweight discipline in Massachusetts in 1986. As a full-time boxer, Collins went on to win the Irish middleweight title against Sam Story in Boston in 1988 and later beat the world no.5 at the time, Kevin Watts, during a sequence of 16 straight wins before being out pointed by Mike McCallum over 12 rounds in a world W.B.A middleweight championship title fight in Boston in February 1990. In April 1992 he was again beaten on points for the W.B.A. middleweight championship of the world, this time by Reggie Johnson, in Meadowlands, New Jersey. Also losing the E.B.U. decider to Sumbu Kalumbay, in 1993 he won the W.B.C. Penta Continental title in a fight against Gerhald Botes of South Africa.
Following that success in 1993, Steve had another tilt at a title attempt, this time against Chris Pyatt where he stopped him in five rounds to land the W.B.O Middleweight title.
Steve’s most memorable fight came when he defeated Chris Eubank on points for the W.B.O. Super-Middleweight world championship in Cork in March 1995. Eubank’s mandatory return fight was to prove Collins stronger again when they fought for a second time again in Cork, once again, Collins winning on points. Collins retired in 1997 with his title after defending his super-middleweight crown a total of seven times; including two notable fights against Nigel Benn.
He retired with a record of 39 fights, 36 wins and only 3 loses. Since Steve’s retirement he has gone on to feature in a number media roles and projects. These include an appearance in a U2 music video with Bono and a part in Guy Richie’s hit film, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Neville Southall
Neville Southall is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest goalkeepers of his time, and was awarded an MBE in 1995 for his services to football in a career spanning over 22 years in the game.
He was born and grew up in Llandudno and originally played centre back for the school team and local side, Llandudno Swifts before later becoming a goalkeeper. However, following unsuccessful trials for both Crewe Alexander and Bolton as a teenager, he started his working life as a builder, playing as an amateur for Conwy United, Bangor City and Winsford before being bought by Bury in 1980. It was whilst at the Gigg Lane club that Sothall was then spotted by then Everton manager Howard Kendall and was transferred to Goodison Park for a fee of £150,000 in 1981.
Neville soon became No.1 for Everton and would remain a firm fixture in the side and fans favourite for the Merseyside team for the next 16 years. During that time he helped the Blues win the League Championship in 1985 and 1987, the FA Cup in 1984 and 1995 and the European Cup Winners Cup in 1985. Also in1985, Southall was also voted Player of the Year by the Football Writers Association.
By the time he played his last game for Everton in November 1997, he had broken the club’s record for appearances, having played in 750 matches. Neville Southall also broke records as one of the most capped Welsh players, making 93 appearances for his country during the 1980s and 1990s.
